Attraction Marketing Cures Desperation

Desperation doesn’t attract.

Have you ever been approached by someone trying to build a network marketing business that sounds so desperate you feel like running the other way.

“Please, please join my business. I just need one more person to qualify for commissions. Puh-leeeeeeze!”

They send out messages to your email they tag you in Facebook posts, they send you link after link hoping you’ll just click and make them rich.

I have been tagged in a number of sales posts on Facebook just this week. It’s a TERRIBLE marketing method. It just pisses people off.

I understand how it feels to REALLY need money. So the promise of MLM riches drives a person to try anything and everything to get people into their business. So much so that they alienate the very people they are trying to attract.

The problem is this desperation will ultimately cause them to quit. They will call it all a scam and be bitter about it. That’s exactly what I did until I got wise.

So why do other people succeed and get the riches that many people find elusive?

It’s simple really. In their minds they have already succeeded and the desperation is gone before they make one dime.

They use a system called “attraction marketing” to make people turn their heads and ask for more information. People WANT to see what they are doing and participate without ever really being pressured into doing so.

People see a solution to their problems and feel zero pressure to open their wallets and buy.

Gone are the days of the shifty car salesman or the door-to-door salesman with his foot in the door. People are more educated. They can find what they want in a car by looking online and go to the car lot knowing exactly what they want. Salespeople are also more educated and use attraction marketing methods that save a lot of shoes getting slammed in a door.

You can recognize attraction marketing when you see it.

The ads will focus on a particular common problem or pain and provide a solution. The better the connection between the pain and the solution, the better the ad.

Features and benefits are an after-thought.

Political ads do the same thing.

So your assignment for this week is to look for ads and determine what the pain is and how the ad provides a solution. Then think of how this would make a person buy the product.

Have fun and learn, Grasshopper.

What People Say About Your Business

I find it very amusing to hear what people say when you tell them you are working a business online.

I’ve heard the words, “suspicious”, “risky”, “scary”, “scam”, and all sorts of things said when you tell them what you are doing.

They have no idea what they are talking about.

Let me explain what I do.

I advertise products for which I am paid.

That’s pretty much “it”.

My products consist of both tangible things like herbal supplements and information products in the form of ebooks and documents.

I also help people get cash back on their online purchases FOR FREE and the merchants give me a commission for finding customers.

I am also beginning to teach others how to do what I do to make money from home using a computer and internet connection.

Is it any more scary, suspicious, risky or scammy than working a job and getting paid? I don’t think so.  If I work, I get paid….just the same.

One woman told me I will rot in hell for doing what I do.  Wow. That’s harsh.  I work for everything I get and I work hard. For that I am eyed suspiciously.

When I try to help someone else, I am immediately suspect.

I think it’s kind of funny.  People fear what they don’t understand.

But I really enjoy doing what I do.  I help some people and get paid to do so.

I am a marketer.

The First Thing To Do…

What is the VERY FIRST thing you should do before starting a new business?

Any guesses?

Think really hard.

Get a loan?

Nope.

Decide what your business should be?

Nope.

Get a rental property?

Nope.

Make a plan?

Closer but not quite.

Are you ready for the answer?

Here it comes:

VISION

Pretty simple isn’t it? But oh so important.

Jack Welch former CEO of General Electric said this:
“Good business leaders create a vision, articulate the vision, passionately own the vision, and relentlessly drive it to completion.”

To create a vision, start at the end result.

First of all write down where you want to be, when you want it to happen.

Make it tangible.

Write down as many details as possible using all your senses.

If you want a fancy car, what color, what model, what are the details? How does the upholstery smell? How will it feel backing it out of your driveway and driving it through the town?

Make it real. Review it every day.

Then you can start on your plan to get it. The plan will come together easily and you will find resources you didn’t know were available as if the universe is making it happen for you.

Make a dream board.

Cut out pictures of what you want and paste them onto a poster. Put it where you can see it often.

Visit a car lot where they sell the car you want and sit in it. Picture yourself driving it off the lot.

The more real you make it in your mind the more successful you will be in attaining your goal.

A dream is your creative vision for your life in the future. You must break out of your current comfort zone and become comfortable with the unfamiliar and the unknown.

Zombies and MLM

I just wanted to give you a quick preview of the eBook I am producing.  It’s called, “What You Can Learn About MLM from Zombies.”

In this eBook, I will cover what exactly zombies have to do with MLM.

In case you don’t know what MLM is, it is short for Multi-level Marketing.  Businesses such as Avon, Mary Kay, doTerra, Amway and many many others are MLMs.

They are a good way for someone to have a home business without a huge outlay of cash to get started…..

          but there are dangers.

Some people become MLM Zombies.

I will tell you why they do, how you can spot the telltale signs and what to do to resurrect them.

            There is a cure.

Once a person knows how to avoid becoming a zombie, their business can flourish.

So in the next week or so, I hope you’ll watch for the release of my free eBook, “What You Can Learn About MLM From Zombies.”

My trip to Bahamas

Hey everyone, I just thought I’d give a write-up of my recent trip to the Bahamas.

As some of you know, I’ve been involved in internet marketing for some time. I’m always looking for ways to improve my skills and do better at my chosen profession.

Everyone can use more information. So I jumped at the chance to be part of an exclusive training offered by Anji Long and Ben Martin in the Bahamas as part of their Legacy Lifestyle Academy.

I had already been following their academy so I knew it was going to be great information. Plus it was in the Bahamas.

This was going to be a select group of 4 people so there would be lots of one-on-one assistance going on.

So I bought my ticket and headed off to the airport in Alaska to go half way around the world to the Bahamas. It meant almost two days of travel.

When I got to the Bahamas, my luggage hadn’t arrived but the airline promised it would come in the next day.

That was a minor annoyance since we would be going to the beach and my swim suit was packed in the suitcase I didn’t have. And my cell phone didn’t work there. Fortunately, there was WiFi.

The first night we were there, they started right in with the training even though I was really tired, it was some great stuff.

On Friday morning we woke up bright and early and hopped in our favorite taxi to go on a water tour.

Since I didn’t have my swim suit, I took a pair of scissors to my jeans and made them into cut-offs. It would have to do.

We saw iguanas, swam with some pigs, got showered by an ocean blow hole and got sunburned. It was lovely.

There was a hurricane in Bermuda which didn’t hit us but it made the water kind of choppy. It was still warm and inviting.

In the afternoon, we did more workshop stuff and started working on making our money-making systems online better. It was good to share input.

Saturday was a full day of digging into information and hands-on stuff. Our blogs and Facebook pages were critiqued.

We also shot some marketing videos

We went to dinner at a local restaurant and had a great time eating some of the local fare and some had tropical drinks at the bar.

On Sunday we covered more material and worked more on our marketing things.

It was the last day and people started flying out.

Since my plane didn’t go till the next day, we went to dinner together again and there was a UFO sighting by some in the group.

On Monday I left for the long journey home.

The upshot of all this is that I gained a vision and direction with my business that I didn’t have before. I learned some new tricks and tools to make my business a reliable income source with true residual income.

The house was beautiful. The information was valuable. The company was friendly and hospitable.

Was it worth it? You bet! Would I do it again? Without hesitation.

Now the work really begins…….

P.S. If you want more information about the Academy and how you can possibly get in on one of these trainings, just send me a message and I’ll let you know how.

Network Marketing is perfect for Boomers

An article in Forbes magazine today by Robert Laura, talked about the dismal financial outlook for people born post WWII until 1964, the Baby Boomers.

He said that about 76 million people were born during this period and many of them are looking at either living at the poverty level or never retiring.

Most of them have below $100,000 saved for retirement.

As the cost of living increases steadily their financial situation will only worsen.

Laura indicated this might be a good reason Network Marketing would be a good option for Boomers.

It certainly was a contributing factor in my decision to enter the Network Marketing field.

There are some advantages to Network Marketing that are not found in any other industry.

  1. As a Network Marketer (NM) you are your own boss and don’t need to apply for a job and pass the scrutiny of an employer or Human Resources person.
  2. You choose the hours you work.
  3. Your earnings are not fixed. In fact there is potential for making a lot of money depending on your work ethic.
  4. Physical handicaps don’t matter. If you can communicate with people, you can do it. Computer skills are a great asset and most Boomers are comfortable with them.

Speaking of computers, the internet has made building a network incredibly easier and has huge potential.

With the proper training, an ordinary person can become a top earner in their Network Marketing Company practically on autopilot.

Having more time to enjoy life in the “golden years” is a definite possibility.

Network Marketing is not a put-your-foot-in-the-door sales thing. Attraction marketing rules where customers come to you.

There is some really great training that can get you going quickly.
